Does anyone know what DS8 film stocks are still available, and where to get them.
Thanks

Thanks for the links.
So it looks like that Fomapan 100 is the only DS8 film still being offered. Anyone know if processing is included with the film? And when you get it procesed does it come back in its 16mm form or split into 2 Super 8 pieces?

More than Foma is available. Cameras Pro offers KodaChrome25, a daylight balance reversal film, in DS8. His web site says that other emulsions are available but does not say what they are. You have to e-mail and ask. So far I have not.
Cameras Pro charges $85/100 ft roll and that includes processing. Seems like a good deal when compared to the cost of super8 cartridges and processing. The drawback is that they have a 5 roll minimum order, $425.
It comes back from the lab slit and spliced into a 200 foot reel.

Don't hold me to this--But I think Kodak will make it for you if you buy 10,000 feet at a time. I know that they will do other custom order for that amount.
Good Luck

I think they'd charge you between $3000-$4000. If you were shooting a 90 minute feature my math says that would be a shooting ratio of 11:1. Should be enough.
I think it would come on 400' cores. You'd have to transfer it to 100' 16mm reels yourself. Getting 100' reels could be a problem. If you had four 100' foot reels you could respool one core at a time. You'd have to get the lab to return the spools to you.
If you process it yourself you need to find a source of 200' 8mm spools. You'd need 100 of them. Or you could forgo splicing and use 100' spools of which you'd need 200. And of course you'd need to make or buy a slitter. I think the guy in Russia sells the splitters.
